Fry receives Upmeyer endorsement

Rep. Joel Fry, R-Osceola, has received an endorsement from House Majority Leader Linda Upmeyer.

Fry, the Republican incumbent is running against Democratic candidate Fred Diehl, Osceola’s long serving mayor, in the upcoming November election.

This is a copy of Upmeyer’s endorsement letter:

“Rep. Fry has spent his time in the legislature, working to tear down obstacles for Iowa’s hardworking middle class families.

He continuously works to find ways to free Iowans from the harassment of government intrusion into their lives and instead simply allow them to raise their families and enjoy their communities.

Rep. Fry works to create opportunities to make family life more affordable, upward mobility more likely and employment easier to find through family-friendly tax changes and targeted investments into education and job training. He’s worked for tax reductions that ease the burdens on working parents and middle class taxpayers.  Rep. Fry has also made it easier for families to afford the cost of college tuition by providing the funding necessary to freeze tuition at the regents universities.

No one in the Legislature works harder for the people of Iowa than Joel Fry.”
