Nawab joins Greater Regional Medical staff

Greater Regional Medical Center welcomes Qurrat-Ul-Ain “Annie” Nawab, M.D., to the Greater Regional medical staff.

Dr. Nawab is a board certified internal medicine physician with secondary practice specialties and board certification in critical care, sleep medicine and pulmonology.

Prior to joining Greater Regional, Nawab worked as a pulmonologist/intensivist and sleep medicine specialist since 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Nawab, recognized as one of 417 Magazine’s Top Pulmonologists in Southwest Missouri, served as chief of the medical staff in 2013-14 and director of the sleep lab during 2011-14 while in Joplin, Mo.

Nawab obtained her medical degree at the Agakhan University Medical School in Karachi, Pakistan in 1999. She completed her internship at Methodist Healthcare University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and her Residency and Fellowship at the University of Tennessee.

Nawab will be director of the Greater Regional Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Center at Greater Regional and will also serve in a rotation with the hospitalist program on the Patient Care Floor at Greater Regional.

Nawab’s husband Joe Hynek is founder of KSOI 91.9, the Murray radio station. The Hynek family is owner of Hynek Tree Farm in Murray and also has a family band, PumpTown, which plays country/eclectic music throughout southern Iowa.

An open house for Dr. Nawab will be held at the Medical Arts Plaza on Friday, Sept. 12, between the hours of 9-10 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
