Frances Smith Leon

Frances A. (Pett) Smith, 76, died July 9, 2014.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon. Elder Jon Barney officiated. Burial was in Decatur Cemetery in Decatur. Memorials may be given to Restoration Church in Oak Grove, Mo.

Frances A. (Pett) Smith, daughter of Ollie Almeda (Bamford) and Robert Ellis Pett, was born May 11, 1938, in Woodbine.

On July 21, 1956, Frances married James L. Smith in Iowa.

Frances was active in the Restored Church of Jesus Christ, where she played piano and organ.

Frances retired from Blue Cross of Iowa.

Frances is survived by her son Norman Smith of Wildomar, Calif.; daughter Nancy (husband Larry) Green of Independence, Mo.; grandsons, Corey and Thomas Smith; sister Ruth (husband Don) McGahuey of Leon; brother LaVerne (wife Mary) Pett of Osceola; sister-in-law Wildon Lou Pett of Osceola; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Kenneth Pett and nephew Mike Pett.
