Patty Bethards Osceola

Patty Bethards, 69, of Osceola died July 1, 2014, at her home in Osceola.

Services were 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. Chuck DeVos officiated. Interment was in Leon Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to HCI Care Services of Osceola. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Patty Kay Bethards, daughter of Margaret LaJune (Akres) and Max Brown Rhodes, was born April 8, 1945, in Osceola.

Patty grew up in Van Wert. She attended country school and graduated from Leon High School.

On Feb. 25, 1967, Patty married Joe Bethards.

Patty and Joe later divorced, and Patty moved to Osceola.

Patty retired after many years working as a shipping clerk for Miller Products.

Patty had been a member of Clarke County Old Iron Club.

Patty is survived by her son Kevin (Ruth) Bethards of Osceola; daughter Kim Bethards of Osceola; grandchildren, Brittany Bethards (Tyler Jones), Jordyn Bethards, Chance (Jamie) Porter, Alena Porter (Ryan Phillips) and Bowe “The Prince” Porter, all of Osceola; great-grandchildren, Carson Jones, Sutton Jones and Brynnley Porter; brother Bill (Goldie) Rhodes of Osceola; sisters, Barb Rhodes of Des Moines and Carolyn Fullerton of New Virginia; friends, Lanney (Katie) Porter, Madison and Nathan of Osceola; 12 nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Patty was preceded in death were her mother, father; step-mothers, Ruth Rhodes and Louise Rhodes; sister Shirley Jackson; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Jackson and Carl Fullerton.
