Mary Morris, 98, of Leon died June 23, 2014, at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon.
Services were 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. The Rev. Sandy Smith officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
Mary Morris, daughter of Alice Jane (Betton) and Edwin Bromley, was born May 7, 1916, in Church Stretton, Eng.
When Mary was 4, her father traveled to the United States for work showing sheep for a man in Chariton. The family soon followed, traveling by ship to Canada and then on to the states and settled near Chariton.
On Dec. 13, 1937, Mary married Orval Samuel Morris in Osceola.
Mary is survived by her daughter Linda Andrew of Osceola and her special friend Don Hobbs of Gallatin, Mo.; sons, Keith (wife Lois) Morris of Osceola and Darrel (wife Sharon) Morris of Osceola; grandchildren, Jeff (Carla) Morris of Brumbley, Mo., Robert (Juliegh) Morris of Williston, N.D., Gary (Karen) Morris of Osceola, Richard (Nicki) Andrew of Osceola, Rodney (Andrea) Andrew of Ankeny, Clayton (Jodi) Andrew of Osceola, Denise Morris of Creston, Daina (David Daeges) Estell of Creston, Dwaun (John Parmer) Ruth of Osceola, Shanda (Michael) Hiatt of Osceola, Shelli (Mark) Werner of Osceola, Melissa (Jim Curran) Morris of Afton, Julie (Rick) Long of Osceola and Jeana Andrew (Dave Forman) of Coralville; 38 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Dennis Dwayne Morris; great-granddaughter Erin Morris; daughter-in-law Sheryl Morris; son-in-law Randall Andrew; brothers, Bert Bromley and Jack Bromley; sister Olive King; sisters-in-law, Madeline Bromley and Glendoris Bromley; brother-in-law Don King; nephew Jack Bromley Jr.; and niece Judy Fisher.
