Gene Garrison Osceola

Gene Garrison, 54, of Osceola died May 31, 2014, of a stroke, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Gene was cremated, and no formal service is planned. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., assisted with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Gene Louis Garrison, son of Florence Louise Soper-Garrison-Hawkins and Gene LaVerne Garrison, was born Oct. 17, 1959, in Osceola.

Gene received his education at Lucas, Wayne and Clarke schools. He went to Lincoln Tech in Des Moines for mechanic schooling and graduated with honors.

He had been working at Eastside Auto for a number of years.

Gene is survived by his mother Florence Louise Hawkins of Osceola; brother Charles A. Hawkins of Corydon; sister Dawn Knusel; sister-in-law Julie Garrison; uncles, John and Marvin Garrison; three nephews; two nieces; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his father; brother Brad Garrison; grandmother Cleo Garrison; grandfather Lewis Soper; grandmother Lola Soper; uncle Richard Allen; and aunt FloraBelle Allen.
