Agnes Lucille Welcher, 91, of Osceola died May 19, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. The Rev. Charlie Coffey officiated. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Iowa Donor Network. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
Agnes Lucille Welcher, daughter of Stella (Sutton) and Robert S. Bevard, was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Leroy.
Lucille grew up in the LeRoy area and attended LeRoy High School.
On May 20, 1950, Lucille married Jose “Joe” Welcher at the United Methodist Church parsonage in Osceola.
Lucille worked as a cutter for Snowdon’s in Osceola for more than 20 years. She had also worked at 10-X in the Des Moines area for five years and Clarke County Hospital in food service for seven years.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Joy (John) Hughes of Citrus Heights, Calif., and Joan (Paul) Stuart of New Virginia; son Richard Ellis (Patricia) of Osceola; grandchildren, Jody “Joe” (Vickie) Ahrens of Des Moines, Rob (Debbie) Ahrens of Roseville, Calif., Penni (Joey) Berticevich of San Jose, Calif., Marti Sheats of Fredericksburg, Va., Shelli Mann of Macomb, Ill., Brandi (Chad) Spreeman of Sterling, Ill., Donny Ellis of Anamosa, Julie (Bret) Rhoades of Marion and Becky Ellis (wife of Joey) of Marion; 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, as well as other relatives and many friends.
Lucille was preceded Lucille in death were her husband, Jose E. Welcher; parents, Robert S. and Stella Bevard; daughter, Carolyn K. Ellis; grandson, Joey R. Ellis; brothers, Claire, Dean and Clyde Bevard; and sisters, Mabel V. Hays and Garland R. Ramsey.
