Webb named “Student Sensation” at ISU
AMES — Joseph Webb of Osceola has been named a 2014 “Student Sensation” by the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences.
Webb, a senior in nutritional science, wants his college career to be marked by being a servant leader.
He is passionate about motivating others and demonstrates this passion through his work with Youth and Shelter Services, Food at First food pantry and as a member of Acacia Fraternity.
He volunteers with the ISU Alternative Breaks program and sits on the Interfraternity Council. He also serves as an adviser for freshmen in the President’s Leadership Class, taught by President Steven Leath and his wife, Janet.
While focusing on others is a top priority, Webb also finds time to devote to his major, researching metabolic diseases in dogs, and serving on a dairy sensory panel.
Webb is among 15 students selected for the honor in 2014.
Sensations are selected by Iowa State’s Human Sciences Student Council through a competitive process and are recognized by the dean’s office. Those selected are held up as role models for others to emulate.
