David Smith Osceola

David Smith, 54, of Osceola died April 29, 2014, at Clarke County Hospital.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 5, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. Doug Smith officiated. Interment will be in Murray Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family for a fitting tribute to be decided on at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com

David Alan Smith, son of Dorothy Ellen (Albaugh) and William Glen Smith, was born June 7, 1959, in Kanesville, Ill.

David received his education at Clarke Community Schools.

On June 14, 2002, David married Dawn Renae McBride.

David worked for the Homestake Mining Company in Deadwood, S.D. for 18 years.

David was a member of the Church of Christ in St. Onge, S.D., former member of St. Onge Fire Department and town constable and president of the water board in South Dakota.

David is survived by his wife Dawn Renae Smith of Osceola; father William “Bill” Smith of Woodburn; daughters, Jaclyn Marie Smith of Arizona and Racheal Ann Smith of Seattle, Wash.; stepdaughters, Jessica Hendrickson and Desirae Loy of Osceola; stepson Garth Loy of Osceola; grandchildren, Tyler McBride, Haylee Henrickson, Harley Henrickson and Raylee Sutton; brother Terry (Kathy) Smith of Osceola, brother-in-law Rex Marker of Woodburn; nephews, Todd Marker, John Marker and Chris Smith; as well as other relatives and many friends.

David was preceded in death by his mother; maternal and paternal grandparents and sister Pat Marker.
