Michael Douglas Johns, 61, of Van Wert died March 9, 2014, in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Services were 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. The Rev. Max Carmichael officiated. Interment was in Van Wert Cemetery. Michael Douglas Johns, son of Hazel Marie (Hulett) and Jimmie Lewis Johns, was born Aug. 20, 1952, in Longmont, Colo.
Mike received his education at South Harrison High School in Bethany, Mo., and later attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo., where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting.
Michael served with the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Pvt. E1.
On July 20, 1991, Mike married Glenna Marie Honn in Van Wert.
A longtime resident of Clarke and Decatur counties, Michael worked as an over-the-road truck driver and had been driving most recently for Big and Small in Osceola.
Mike is survived by his son Cody Ray Johns of Osceola, former wife Glenna Sook of Osceola, stepdaughter Kristina (Steve) Chebuhar, sister Bonnie (Phil) Fish of Cameron, Mo.; niece Katie, nephew Josh, as well as numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
