Bland, Friday wed in Virginia

Nancy June Bland and John Noel Friday were married in a Nov. 23, 2013 ceremony.

A 5:30 p.m. ceremony was held at the Garrison House, which is owned by Jerry and Carol Garrison, in Gloucester, Va. Pastor Chris Morgan officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hanson of Ocala, Fla. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Friday of Osceola.

The bride was escorted by her father and was attended by her best friend, Sheila Robichaud of Derry, N. H., as matron of honor.  Melaina Martin of Gloucester, Va., was the flower girl.

The best man was Sam Friday, son of the groom. The bride’s son Jonathan Bland served as the usher. 

Libby Friday of Charlottesville, Va., daughter of the groom, served as hostess and assisted the bride’s sister, Donna Hanson of Gloucester, Va., reading excerpts from “The Blessing for a Marriage,” by James D. Freeman intertwined with verses from the book of Colossians Chapter 3.

The bride is employed by Huntington Ingalls Inc – Newport News Shipbuilding as a system’s administrator and is currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Strayer University.

The groom owns and operates Custom Yacht Service, a full service boatyard located on Carter’s Creek in Irvington, Va. 

The couple resides in Irvington, Va.
