Evelyn Verlee Henrichs, 84, of Osceola died Feb. 12, 2014, at Clarke County Hospital.
Services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. Dwayne Henrichs officiated. Interment was in Murray Cemetery. Memorials may be given to her family for Osceola Farmers' Market. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
Evelyn Verlee Henrichs, daughter of Ina (Richardson) and Bernard "Bun" Smith, was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Clarke County.
Verlee received her education in Clarke and Decatur counties and graduated from LeRoy High School in 1948.
On May 29, 1948, Verlee married Phillip Leroy Henrichs in Osceola.
Phillip and Verlee lived in Clarke County, on the same farm for 51 years.
Because of Phillip's health, they retired and moved to Osceola in November 1999.
Phillip died Aug. 16, 2010.
Verlee volunteered several years at the Headstart program. She was involved with Osceola Farmers' Market, where she was manager for 16 years. She was a member of Murray Church of Christ and Smile Awhile Club since 1949.
Verlee is survived by her sons, Paul (Laura) Henrichs of Traer and David (Lori) Henrichs of Lenox; granddaughters, Kara, Brooke, and Mallory, all of Lenox: sisters, Shirley Jewell of Des Moines and Bernadine (George) Zimmerman of Tucson, Ariz.; brother Lester (Mary Ann) Smith of Osceola, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husband, Verlee was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
