Larry Lee Fry, 66, of Murray died Feb. 3, 2014, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Van Wert Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Butch Black officiated. Cremation followed with burial to be held at a later date in High Point Cemetery east of Leon. Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home, Leon, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Van Wert Assembly of God Church.
Larry Lee Fry, son of Wilma Mae (Glendening) and David Drew Fry, was born June 30, 1947, in Osceola.
Larry grew up in the Van Wert area and graduated from Clarke Community High School in 1965.
During the Vietnam era, Larry spent six years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Larry was a member of Woodburn American Legion.
On Sept. 16, 1966, Larry married Jennie Lynn Massey at Van Wert Assembly of God Church.
They made their home in Van Wert, until moving to Murray in 1977.
Larry initially worked at Ford Motor Implement in Des Moines for several years. He was then plant manager and salesman for Farm Service in Weldon and Murray. Before retiring, Larry worked as a rock inspector for Martin Marietta Quarry for 15 years.
Larry attended Van Wert Assembly of God Church.
Larry is survived by his wife Jennie Fry of Murray, son T.J. (wife Shelly) Fry of New Virginia, daughter Sami Fry of Saint Charles; grandchildren, Jessica Toney, Blake Martin and Lucas Fry; brother Ronnie (wife Bunny) Fry of Van Wert; nephews, Randy (wife Crystal) Fry and Aaron (wife Chris) Fry; niece Carrie (husband Mike) Boswell; other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister-in-law Garry and Linda Fry.
