COON RAPIDS — Interstate 35 head wrestling coach Randy Calvert picked up the 400th dual win of his career here Saturday at the Coon Rapids-Bayard Dual Tournament.
Calvert ranks in the top five for dual wins by active coaches in the state of Iowa and is now in the top seven all-time in the state of Iowa for career dual wins.
The Roadrunners are in action at home on Saturday with the Interstate 35 Invitational, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
MOUNT AYR — The Murray Lady Mustangs suffered their first loss of the season here Monday, falling to Mount Ayr 54-43.
“Lack of defense and poor shooting caught up to us this evening,” head coach Jerry Shields said. “We didn’t get much out of our post play and didn’t decide to play defense until the fourth quarter.”
Murray falls to 12-1 with the loss.
Kate Patton scored 20 points, while Megan Oswald added 10 points and six rebounds for Murray.
Murray boys win
MOUNT AYR — The Murray boys picked up a 61-56 win over Mount Ayr here on Monday.
After jumping to a 21-4 lead, Murray saw that lead evaporate, as the Raiders climbed back into the ballgame.
Trey McHenry led the Mustangs with 22 points to go with six assists, while Pat Kilmer added 15 with 10 rebounds and Andrew Rider scored 10 points with seven assists.
The Mustangs return to action tonight at Grandview Park Baptist.
