Accident

No citations were issued after an accident 12:25 a.m. Jan. 9 in the 1800 block of 270th Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Brian Dean Beem, 45, of Webster City, driving a 1994 Chevrolet north on 270th Avenue, attempted to avoid striking a deer. His vehicle left the road, entered a yard and struck a building. No injuries were reported.

Damage estimates are $2,000 to the vehicle owned by Tonnetta Rachael Michaelson and $500 to a building owned by Gerald Pederson.

No citations were issued after an accident 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the intersection of 190th Avenue and Highway 34.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Maceo Howard Strickland, 38, of Osceola, driving a 2013 Ford east on Highway 34, struck a deer.

Damage estimate is $2,000 to the vehicle owned by Gelco Corporation.

No citations were issued after an accident 4:10 a.m. Jan. 14 at 777 Casino Drive.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, a 1999 Freightliner semitrailer owned and driven by Kasim Salkic, 56, of Waterloo and a 2007 Volvo semitrailer owned by Falco Transportation Inc. of Deerfield, Ill., were both legally parked at Lakeside Casino’s truck parking lot. Both vehicles were facing south.

Salkic was driving out of his parking spot and turned east to leave. The vehicle turned to sharp and the back tandem wheels struck the bumper of the 2007 Volvo semitrailer.

Damage estimates are $2,000 to Salkic’s vehicle and $5,000 to the 2007 Volvo semitrailer.
