Ronald Woods Osceola
Ronald Woods, 75, of Osceola died Jan. 11, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. Julie Poore officiated. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at a later time.
Ronald Dean Woods, son of Edith Maxine (Baker) and Charles Harlan Woods, was born Dec. 19, 1938, in Clarke County. He was a lifetime resident of Clarke County.
Ron graduated from Osceola High School in 1957.
On June 1, 1958, Ron married Patricia Ann Zepp in Osceola.
Ronald has worked his lifetime farming and had also been a seedcorn dealer for Pioneer for more than 36 years. Ron later sold for Mycogen, as well.
Ronald was a member of Osceola Saddle Club, Clarke County Old Iron Club, Osceola Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 3495, Clarke County Sheriff’s Posse, Southern Iowa Draft Horse Association and Osceola United Methodist Church, since he was a youth.
Ronald is survived by his wife Patty Woods of Osceola, children, Ronda (Mike) Roe of Schertz, Texas, Becky Woods of Brownsville, Texas, R. Dean (Teresa) Woods of Osceola and Rachelle “Shelly” (John) Bowman of Martinsville, Ind.; foreign exchange daughter Anneke DeVries (Jake) of the Netherlands; grandchildren, Dusty (Renee) Henry and Cody (Nicole) Henry, all of Osceola, Nikki (Cheyne) O’Laughlin of Brazil, Ind., Cassie Roe (fiance Landon Moss) of Colfax, Michaela Roe of Schertz, Texas, Tiffany (Jordan) Redman of Norwalk, Tricia Woods (fiance Nick Wallace) of Ankeny, Trenton Woods of Ottumwa, Sean Bowman of Martinsville, Ind., Sierra Bowman of Martinsville, Ind., and Jessica and Helena DeVries of the Netherlands; 11 great-grandchildren, sister Ann Burrell of Osceola, brother, Charles Woods of Woodburn; aunts, Juanita Woods and Dorothy Woods, both of Osceola; brother-in-law Wayne Zepp of Marysville, Mich.; nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and pet Cheyenne.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; father- and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Nellie Zepp; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Merrill Burrell, Barbara Zepp, Ronald Zepp and Joan Zepp.
