Wanda Redman – Van Wert

Wanda Redman, 98, of Van Wert died Jan. 6, 2014, in Pella.

Services were 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. Terry Roberts officiated. Interment was in Van Wert Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Van Wert Community Center. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Wanda Edith Redman, daughter of Flora Mable (Fox) and Frances "Frank" Wesley Cole, was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Grand River.

Wanda received her early education at Grand River Country Schools and then graduated from Van Wert High School.

On Dec. 31, 1934, Wanda married Horace Clair Redman in Osceola.

Horace died Jan. 13, 2004.

Wanda was a lifetime resident of Decatur County.

Wanda was a member of Van Wert United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Danny (Carolyn) Redman of Burwell, Neb., Dave (Jane) Redman of Leon and Dick (Ronda) Redman of Pella; grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Max of Burwell, Neb., Robin (Dennis) Brockman of Burwell, Neb., Casey (Angela) Redman of Burwell, Neb., Chris (Karyn) Redman of Waukee, Sarah (Todd) Middleton of Shawnee, Kan., Jeanna (Shannon) Hoekstra of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Ryan (Bridgette) Redman of Olathe, Kan.; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her husband, Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, three infant daughters, one infant grandson; and sisters, Arlene (Kenneth) Holmes and Thelma (Lawrence) McDowell.
