Sharon Ellen Miler Leon

Sharon “Ellen” Miler, 71, of Leon died Dec. 22, 2013.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Van Wert Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Butch Black officiated.  Burial was in Van Wert Cemetery. Slade-O’Donnell Funeral Home of Leon was in charge of arrangements.

Sharon “Ellen” Miler, daughter of Ruby Ellen (Pettis) Elmer and Dwight Miler Sr., was born May 24, 1942, in Osceola.

Ellen lived in Osceola with her parents until they moved to a farm near Leon in 1972.

Ellen had health problems as a child. She completed third grade and taught herself to read.

Ellen is survived by her brother Elmer (Avis) Miler, niece Okalena (Bill) Hill, nephew Tony Miler and Jennifer Pollard; great-nieces and -nephews, Clayton Hill, Malorie and Monica Irving and Tate, Reece, and Wade Hill, all of Leon; and friends who helped care for her.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Kirk Eugene Miler.
