Middle school volleyball

The Clarke eighth grade volleyball team tied Albia 3-3 on Oct. 17, finishing the season with a 3-2-2 record.

The Lady Indians lost game one to Albia, 16-21. Sidney Marker served 6-of-6 in the game and Hayley Gilbert served 5-of-5 with one ace.

Clarke also lost game two, 19-21. Faith Lawrence served 7-of-8 and Chynna Beydler served 5-of-5.

The Lady Indians bounced back to win game three, 21-15. Lawrence served 5-of-5 and Abbi LePera served 3-of-3.

Albia scored a 21-11 win in game four, as Taylor Miller served 4-of-4 for the Lady Indians.

Clarke won game five, 21-15. Karla Vargas served 7-of-8 with two aces, Shailee Patel served 2-of-2 with one ace and Alexis Grow served 2-of-2.

The Lady Indians won game six, 21-13, as Haley Pollard served 5-of-5, while Vargas and Miller each served 4-of-5.

Clarke lost 4-2 at Eddyville-Blakesburg on Oct. 15.

The Lady Indians dropped the first game 18-21, as Sidney Marker served 6-of-6 and Chynna Beydler served 5-of-6.

Clarke lost game two, 10-21, before winning game three, 15-9. Marker served 9-of-9 in game three, while Faith Lawrence served 5-of-5.

Clarke dropped game four, 13-21. Taylor Miller served 4-of-4. The Lady Indians also dropped game five, 10-21, before winning game six, 15-13. Savannah Gilbert served 4-of-5 with one ace in game six.

On Oct. 10, Clarke tied with Centerville 4-4. The Lady Indians scored a 21-10 win in game one, as Faith Lawrence and Chynna Beydler each served 6-of-6. Sidney Marker served 5-of-5.

The Lady Indians dropped a close game two, 20-22, led by Lawrence serving 9-of-9 and Beydler serving 4-of-5. Clarke dropped game three, 6-15.

Clarke took game four, 15-9. Marker served 4-of-4 and Hayley Gilbert served 3-of-3 with one ace.

The Lady Indians dropped game five, 10-15. Shailee Patel served 2-of-3. Clarke won game six, 15-9, as Hannah Pollard served 5-of-5.

Clarke won dropped game seven, 17-19. Taylor Miller served 4-of-5, Karla Vargas served 2-of-3 and Pollar served 3-of-3.

The Lady Indians won game eight, 16-14, as Alexis Grow served 2-of-2.

Clarke fell to Chariton on the road on Oct. 8, 5-3.

Clarke also dropped game three, 8-15, before bouncing back to win game four, 15-4. Lawrence served 8-of-8 in game four.

The Lady Indians fell 9-15 in game five, as Shailee Patel served 3-of-3. Patel then served 3-of-4 in a 12-15 game six loss.

Clarke won game seven, 15-4, as Savannah Gilbert served 7-of-7 with one ace and Hannah Pollard served 5-of-5. Clarke lost game eight, 9-15. Karla Vargas served 5-of-5 with one ace.
