HUMESTON — Murray finished second at the Bluegrass Conference Tournament here on Thursday, after beating Melcher-Dallas in the semifinals and falling to Grandview Park Baptist in the finals.

The Mustangs rolled past Melcher-Dallas 25-11, 25-19, 27-25. They then fell to Grandview Park Baptist 17-25, 18-25, 10-25.

"Got defeated in the finals by a very good GVPB team," Murray head coach Jerry Shields said. "They controlled us at the net. Still an end to a very good regular season."

Hannah Barber collected 29 kills in the two matches, while also serving 23-of-25 with five aces and going 27-of-28 on serve receive. Cheyanne Ashby finished with 12 kills, while Megan Oswald added 10.

Madison Gonseth finished with four blocks, while Jade Lecy and Ashby each recorded three blocks.

Kate Patton served 28-of-30 with three aces and set 48 assists for the Mustangs, which finish the regular season 24-3. McKenzie Case led the team with 16 digs and Oswald added nine.
