Helen Blair Osceola

Helen Blair, 80, of Osceola died Oct. 16, 2013, at Clarke County Hospital.

Services were 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Maple Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Kenney Linhart officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Helen Louise Blair, daughter of Clara Hazel (Fry) and Ancel Harrison Kennedy, was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Warren County.

Helen received her education in New Virginia and graduated from New Virginia High School in 1951.

On Dec. 11, 1951, Helen married Kenneth Wayne Blair at the United Methodist Church in Osceola.

Helen spent many years working beside her husband in their cattle-buying business. She was also a homemaker.

Helen was a member of Bible study groups.

Helen is survived by her husband Kenneth Blair of Osceola; children, Peggy (Dan) Perkins of Atlantic and Kathy (Mike) Kelly, Chris (Don) Williams and Kenny Wayne (Cathy) Blair, all of Osceola; brother Herbert (Marilyn) Kennedy of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Galloway of Muscatine, Mark (Brandi) Dunbar of Osceola, Ryan Dunbar of Norwalk, Gabe Kelly of Lorton, Va., Cade (Tara) Kelly of Waukee, Jordanna Kelly of West Des Moines, Keysto Kelly of West Des Moines, Jaime (Eric) Jensen of Des Moines, Scott (Stephanie) Williams of New Virginia, Amanda Blair of Elkhorn, Neb., and Amelia, Alicia and Alexxa Blair, all of Osceola,; great-grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, Julian, Alex, Kiaya, Josie, Kanter, Grant, Nolan, Bella, Maliya, Ethan, Mitchell, Owen, Evan, Ian and Elin; brother-in-law Max (Mary) Blair of New Virginia, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Jarod Patrick Kelly; brothers, Donald and Merrill Kennedy; sisters, Virginia Lympus and Edwina Foley; sister-in-law Wilma Kennedy; and brothers-in-law, Ernie Lympus and Waldo “Jake” Foley.
