Animal shelter receives $3,000 from ASPCA

Clarke County Animal Shelter announced the receipt of a $3,000 grant from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®). The funds will go toward essential veterinary care for the animals at the shelter.

“These funds are going to give the animals at Clarke County Animal Shelter access to medical care that was not previously available to them,” said Joy Durham, manager of the Clarke County Animal Shelter. “Most of our veterinary budget goes to getting the animal spayed/neutered and providing their core vaccines, but we have some animals that come in to the shelter in dire need of medical attention. This generous grant from the ASPCA will help us save more of the animals that come through our doors.”

“A priority for any animal shelter is the health and wellbeing of the animals in their care,” said Jennifer Dragotta, community initiatives director at the ASPCA. “The ASPCA is pleased to provide this grant to Clarke County Animal Shelter so that they can effectively provide critical medical attention to those animals that require it.”
