Wilma Fry Osceola

Wilma Fry, 87, of Osceola died Sept. 23, 2013, at Clarke County Hospital.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to HCI Care Services or Clarke County Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Wilma Louise Fry, daughter of Cleo Grace (Pearcy) and Hubert Cecil Horton, was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Clarke County.

Wilma graduated from LeRoy High School.

On Nov. 12, 1947, Wilma married Carroll Gene Fry at the First Christian Church in Osceola.

Wilma joined Gene in the family business, Gene and Nelson’s Appliance, in 1959, and they worked side by side until her retirement in 2007.

She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church.

Wilma is survived by her husband Carroll Gene Fry of Osceola; son Nelson Lee (Sharon) Fry of Osceola; daughter Jane Elizabeth (Daniel) McGhee of Norwalk; grandchildren, Nelson Joel (Heather) Fry and Kenneth Gene (Kelly) Fry, all of Osceola, Trisha Loree Fry of Colorado, Eric Robert (Jen) Hochstein of West Des Moines, Laura Beth (Evan) Anderson of Mason City, Becky Renee (Josh Heagel) Griffin of Kensett and Brandi Jean (Jeremiah) Moore of Oregon; 26 great-grandchildren; brother Robert “Bob” Horton of Osceola; sisters, Carolyn Timmons of Osceola and Charlotte (Wendell) Jones of Van Wert; other relatives and many friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law Freddie Timmons and sister-in-law Paula Horton.
