Larry Reynolds Weldon

Larry Reynolds, 75, of Weldon died Sept. 17, 2013, at his home.

Services were 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. The Rev. Brian McCracken and the Rev. Charlie Coffey officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family for a scholarship to be established in his name. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Larry Keith Reynolds, son of Helen (Cornelison) and Frank Reynolds, was born Oct. 22, 1937, at home on the farm.

Larry attended Cornfield College and Sunnyside country schools and graduated from Osceola High School in 1956.

Larry was a member of FFA and 4-H.

Larry purchased his first farm when he was 20.

Larry was baptized at Osceola Presbyterian Church in 1954.

Larry served in the Army Reserve from 1960 through 1966.

On Sept. 15, 1962, Larry married Virginia Ellen Taff at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua.

After graduating from high school, Larry worked at Lewis Chevrolet as a mechanic and construction on the bridge on Harding Road over the freeway. He was a farmer and raised farrow to finish hogs for 31 years.

Larry is survived by his wife Virginia; daughters, Penny (Rhonda) Strough, Sue (Brian) Cumpton and Tanya (Joe) Desmond; grandchildren, Kelsey and Courtney Cumpton, Kylar, Rylan and Kate Desmond and adopted grandchildren, Annah, Saydee, Zowie, Tucker and Dakoda Strough; brother Darrell (Linda) Reynolds; and sister Linda A. Reynolds.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
