Paul Selsor Osceola

Paul Selsor, 92, of Osceola died Aug. 1, 2013, at Homestead Assisted Living.

Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. Dwayne Henrichs officiated. Interment was in Hopeville Cemetery. Paul Arthur Selsor, son of Birdetta (Gillett) and Steven Andrew Selsor, was born June 25, 1921, in Clarke County.

Paul received his education in the rural schools of Clarke County, attending Doyle Township No. 7.

On Aug. 18, 1940, Paul married Helen Vaniece Chew in Murray.

Paul worked for John Deere in Ankeny, and was trained as a machinist, but in later years he became a distribution manager. After more than 30 years of employment with John Deere, Paul retired to the farm.

Paul was a member of U.A.W. Local No. 450.

Paul is survived by his wife Helen Selsor of Osceola; daughter Karen (Allen) Perry of Mandeville, La.; son Danny (Cathy) Selsor of Des Moines; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Alma Selsor of Thayer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Burton, Elmer and Edward Selsor; sisters, Opal Arlene Kirkwood, Mabel Swaim, Minnie Siefkas, Viola Davis, Pauline Baker and Bessie Siefkas; and grandson Danny Paul Selsor II.
