Timothy Calanca Sr. Grand River

Timothy J. Calanca Sr., 72, of Grand River died July 22, 2012, after battling pancreatic cancer for several years.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Timothy J. Calanca Sr., son of Angelo and Ethel Calanca of Round Lake, Ill., was born Dec. 30, 1940.

Tim served in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret.

Tim was a firefighter for many years both in Illinois and Iowa and served as chief of the Grand River Fire Department for many years until his illness.

He was a member of Osceola Lodge No. 77 A.F. & A.M. and Grand River American Legion.

Tim is survived by his wife Kathy; children, Timothy Calanca Jr., Angelo (Lindsay) Calanca, Megan (Tony) Sacchetti, Brenda Cunningham and Adam (Rae) Wintz; grandchildren, Tim, Samantha, Kristyn, Danielle, Anthony, Addison, Katie, Matthew, Vanessa, Holly and Patrick; and sisters, Angela Blasarius and Julie Laskowski.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia Laskowski and Mary Calanca and grandchild Danielle Sacchetti.
