Donald Wolfe Osceola

Donald Wolfe, 88, of Osceola died June 26, 2013, at Southern Hills Specialty Care.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. James “Pete” R. Sheesley officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family for a fitting tribute to be decided at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Donald Dean Wolfe, son of Eva Pearl (Moore) and Clarence Wilbur Wolfe, was born May 31, 1925, in Clarke County.

Don graduated from Osceola High School in 1942.

On Sept. 24, 1947, Don married Verda May Bright at the Christian Church parsonage in Osceola.

A lifetime farmer in Clarke County, Don made his home within a three-mile radius of the home place where he was born.

Don was an active member at his churches and considered a mentor to some, as he served as a deacon and elder.

Donald is survived by his wife Verda of Osceola; children, Pat (Lee) Sponsler of Pella, Bill (Jane) Wolfe of St. Marys, Karen (Ken) Norton of Creston and Dan Wolfe of Osceola; grandchildren, Roger (Malisa) Byers, Jennifer Wright, Shelly (Tom) Lynch, Lance (Jacki) Sponsler, Nick (Ariel) Sponsler, Ashley Sponsler, Kelly (Angela) Wolfe, Matt (Emily) Wolfe, Allison Norton and Mackenzie Norton; great-grandchildren, Jackie (Adam Smith) Wright, Jordyn and Jerod Wright, Maddie, Zack and Ellie Lynch, Jake, Luke, Layton and Barrett Sponsler and Gabriel Wolfe; also as a grandchild, Kayla Girard and her children Brayden, Baylee, Thomas and Rylan, Zach Girard, Josh Webb and Ethan and Maddy Edwards; sister Mabel Sloan of Osceola; sister-in-law Doris (Harold) Kentner of Osceola; other relatives and many friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister Marie Craig; brother Leo Wolfe; brothers-in-law, Arthur Bright, Dick Sloan and John Craig; sisters-in-law, Oralene Wolfe and Corda Bright; and nieces, Kathi Kentner and Barbara Sloan.
