OCMS hosts business resource reception

On Friday, June 28, Osceola Chamber Main Street’s Business Improvement Committee held a business resource reception at King’s Canyon. All local businesses were invited to take part to learn more about the committee, the work they do, and the services they provide. Businesses were also invited to sign up for a business visit where a two-person team would meet with the business and provide more in-depth feedback and support.

Business Improvement Chairperson Jeff DeForest said, “Our goal is to let businesses know that we are there for them. A lot of businesses have questions about marketing, social media, succession planning, and more and they just have no idea where to turn. We are also here to help them learn the truth about things like grants. There are very few actual grants for businesses, but there are smarter ways to finance projects. This reception is our way to let them know we can help.”

OCMS Executive Director Derek Lumsden said, “Our goal is to help fill the knowledge gap between having an idea and implementation of an idea. Businesses have great ideas on how to succeed, but sometimes need a little extra help to get that dream to be a reality. We can help in that process.”
