Dennis Morris, 72, of Osceola died June 23, 2013, at his home.
Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. Chuck DeVos and the Rev. Pete Sheesley officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Dennis Dwayne Morris, son of Mary (Bromley) and Orval Samuel Morris, was born Jan. 2, 1941, in Osceola.
Dennis graduated from Osceola High School in 1959.
Dennis married Frances Utley.
On Sept. 9. 1976, Dennis married Sheryl Verlynn May in Osceola.
Dennis spent most of his life working as a farmer raising hogs, cattle and crops. In later years, he worked at Andrew Auto Supply, Swine Graphics and Clarke Community Schools. Most recently, he was working security at Lakeside Casino in Osceola.
Dennis was a member of FFA, Do Si Do Square Dance Club in Osceola and Professional Bowlers Association (PBA).
Dennis is survived by his mother Mary Morris of Leon; companion Frances Morris Utley of Creston; daughters, Denise Morris of Creston, Daina Estell (friend David Daegas) of Creston and Dwaun Ruth (friend John Parmer) of Osceola; stepdaughter Shanda (Michael) Hiatt of Osceola; grandchildren, Joni (Todd) Morris, Rick (Tessa) Seaton, Keden Morris, Davy (Krystal) Estell, Tara (Landon) Estell, Chelsey Estell, Briann Estell, Jacob Daegas, Brandon (Kallie), Dillion and Dalton Daughenbaugh and Dayne Ruth; step-grandchildren, Josh (Jill) Mitchell, Jon Mitchell and Steven, Brittany and Sara Hiatt; great-grandchildren, Max, Morgan, Taylor, Austin, Lilly, Stryder, Emma, Evan and Kinlee; step-great-grandchildren, Destina, Ayla, Blaine, William, Dallas and Ethan; brothers, Darrell (Sharon) Morris and Keith (Lois) Morris, all of Osceola; sister Linda Andrew of Osceola; sister-in-law Leah Page of Adel; brother-in-law Dwaine (Sherry) May of Osceola; as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father; wife Sheryl Verlynn Morris; sons-in-law, Donald Ruth and Todd Estell; and granddaughter Janessa Annmarie Hiatt.
