Central Decatur 2, Interstate 35 1

LEON — All the scoring for the two teams came in the first inning, as Central Decatur beat Interstate 35 2-1 here on June 11.

The Cardinals collected just five hits as a team, but also drew five walks.

Noah Bishop, Bryson Durrow, Joey Marcus, Kyle Palmer and Jon Simmons each recorded a hit for the Cardinals.

Bishop and Durrow scored the two Central Decatur runs. Bishop finished with one stolen base and Durrow swiped two bags.

Matt Marvin picked up the win on the mound, throwing a complete game. He allowed 10 hits with one run and struck out seven while walking one.

For the Roadrunners, Zach Brommel went 2-for-4 with a double and the team’s lone run scored. Tommy Bregar was 3-4 in the game and Tyler Lester went 1-3 with one RBI. Kenneth Thompson also collected two hits for Interstate 35.

Brommel took the loss on the mound, throwing four innings with three strikeouts and two walks. Bregar pitched two innings of relief, striking out five and walking three.

Central Decatur 10, Corning 5

LEON — Aggressive baserunning led to a 10-5 win for Central Decatur over Corning here on June 13.

The Cardinals stole 10 bases as a team, including four by Noah Bishop and three by Trevor Greenland.

Bishop went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Greenland also went 3-4 in the game and scored two runs. Daniel Weir was 2-4 with one RBI.

Bryson Durrow, Joey Marcus, Matt Marvin and Drew Legg each drove in one run for the Cardinals.

Marcus picked up the win on the mound, tossing a complete game, allowing five runs on seven hits with 13 strikeouts and five walks.

Interstate 35 13, Nodaway Valley 6

TRURO — Interstate 35 scored nine runs in the second inning and used a balanced offensive attack to pick up a 13-6 win over Nodaway Valley here on June 13.

Dylan Webb went 2-for-2 with three runs batted in for the Roadrunners. Zach Brommel and Tommy Bregar each recorded one hit with two RBI. Lucas Ealy also drove in two runs for Interstate 35.

Mitch Morris, Zach Goering and Kenneth Thompson each drove in one run for the Roadrunners.

The Roadrunners also drew 11 walks in the contest.

Tyler Lester picked up the win for Interstate 35 on the mound. Lester threw four innings, giving up four runs on three hits, issuing nine walks and striking out six. Tommy Bregar pitched three innings of relief, allowing two runs on two hits with five strikeouts and four walks.

Murray 8, Lamoni 7

LAMONI — Murray picked up an 8-7 Bluegrass Conference win over Lamoni here on June 11.

Cody Scroggie picked up the win on the mound, throwing 5 2/3 innings and giving up just three earned runs. Scroggie was also 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.

Corey McCracken went 1-1 with an RBI and two runs scored. Justin Jones was 1-4 and drove in the game-winning run. Raymond Barlage went 2-4 with a run scored.

Murray 10,

Mount Ayr 5

MURRAY — Murray beat Mount Ayr here on June 12, 10-5.

Braydon Held pitched a complete game for the Mustangs, picking up the win.

Cody Scroggie went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three stolen bases. Sam Rockhold was 2-4 and drove in three runs, while Pat Kilmer went 1-2 with an RBI and three stolen bases.

Moulton-Udell 9, Murray 4

MURRAY — Austin Halls was 2-for-4 with two stolen bases as Murray fell to Moulton-Udell Thursday, 9-4.

Raymond Barlage went 2-3 with a run for Murray (8-4). Dalton Winship was 1-2 with a walk and a run scored.

On the mound, Halls allowed six earned runs on nine hits in five innings, with four strikeouts and three walks.
