George Wilson, 72, of Mystic, formerly of Hopeville, died June 15, 2013, at Ottumwa Regional Medical Center.
Burial was 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Union Cemetery in Clarke County. Memorial services will be held at a later date. No visitation is planned. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. George Phillip Wilson, son of Margaret (Myers) and George Carl Wilson, was born Sept. 11, 1940, in Craig, Neb.
George received his education in the country schools of Nebraska, and after moving to Murray, he graduated from Murray High School in 1958.
George was a lifetime farmer.
George is survived by his lifelong companion Eunice Wright of Mystic; children, Richard (Jeanne Jones) Wilson of Grand River, Carol (Mohammed) Wilson of Arlington, Va., Russell (Karalee) Wilson of Murray, Jim (Kylea) Wilson of Creston and Ben Wilson of Boone; brother Jim Wilson of San Francisco, Calif.; brother Bob Wilson of Hopeville; step-grandchildren, Scott (Chasity) Cowden of New Virginia, Stefanie Cowden of Denver, Colo., and Shay Cowden of New Virginia; step-great-grandchildren, Halley and Maya Cowden; other relatives and many friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Ross Wilson.
