Rayola Andrew, 92, of Osceola died June 2, 2013, at Southern Hills Specialty Care.
Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. Julie Poore officiated. Interment was in Grand River Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Osceola United Methodist Church, 130 W. Grant, Osceola, IA 50213.
Rayola Lucille Andrew, daughter of Goldie (Adams) and Ray Boles, was born Jan. 22, 1921, on a rice farm in Wharton County, Texas.
Rayola received her education at Brick Country School and graduated from Grand River High School in 1939.
On July 29, 1939, Rayola married Ralph Andrew. They started their life together in a house near his parents’ home.
They lived in Grand River until they moved in 1958, making their home in Osceola.
Rayola joined Grand River United Methodist Church in 1953 and later served as the president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service and was the church treasurer. At Osceola United Methodist Church, she chaired the prayer chain and quilting ladies organization.
Rayola is survived by her daughter-in-law Linda Andrew of Osceola; grandchildren, Richard “Rick” (Nicki) Andrew of Osceola, Rodney (Andrea) Andrew of Ankeny, Clay (Jodi) Andrew of Osceola and Jeana Andrew (Dave Forman) of Coralville; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Sara and Trevor Andrew, Haley (Jon) Aleman and Sydney, Maeci and Braden Andrew; great-great-grandson Harper Aleman; other relatives and many friends.
Rayola was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1979; son Randall Ray Andrew; sister Agnes Graves; nephew David Graves; and brother-in-law Myles Graves.
