Allen Heston Woodburn

Allen Heston, 86, of Woodburn died May 27, 2013, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Services were 1 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. Interment was in Ottawa Cemetery near Woodburn. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

George Allen Heston, son of Bessie Fern (Goben) and Rolland M. Heston, was born July 29, 1926, near Woodburn.

On March 25, 1944, Allen married Wilma Charlene Ruble in Osceola.

Allen farmed for more than 60 years in Clarke and Lucas counties and was a service representative for Massey Ferguson for 22 years.

Allen was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and member of Ollie Baptist Church.

Allen is survived by his son Perry Allen (wife Reva) Heston of Southwest City, Mo.; daughter Sandra and Verlan DeRaad of Colfax; grandchildren, Jodi Davenport (Scott), Michael Heston, Shelly Veldhuizen (Brian) and Dustin DeRaad (Carmen); great-grandchildren, Kristane Hendricks (Bruce), Shelby Rutherford, Barbara Heston, Sydney and Clayton Veldhuizen and Coby and Darbey DeRaad; and great-great-grandchildren, Dreyden, Avirey and Aliyah Hendricks.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother Everette Heston; and sisters, Iona Vandermey, Delores Winn, Betty Williams and Genevive Wall.
