Clarke golf finishes season

The Clarke golf team recently finished up a successful 2013 golf season.

The Lady Indians finished the year with an 11-1 mark in meets, losing only to a Central Decatur team that qualified for the state meet as a team.

The Clarke girls finished third in the South Central Conference Meet behind Albia and Centerville.

Kimberly Eddy and Courtney Clark each earned all-conference honors, shooting 18-hole scores of 102 and 106, respectively. It marked the second straight year Eddy was named to the all-conference team.

Jordyn Wright added a score of 120, Nicole Clark shot a 133, Samantha Stickels recorded a 148 and Alex Stine shot a round of 176.

The Lady Indians then traveled to Shenandoah for regional play, where they shot a team score of 460.

Eddy led the team individually, shooting a 107, while Jordyn Wright recorded a 111 and Courtney Clark shot 115. Nicole Clark added a round of 127 and Samantha Stickels finished with a 142.

The Clarke boys finished the regular season with a record of 8-5-1.

At the South Central Conference Meet in Centerville, the Indians placed fourth, just seven strokes behind second place Albia.

Seth Audlehelm finished third individually with a round of 77 and Mitch Lampe shot a score of 78 for fifth place. Both golfers were named all-conference, marking the second time Lampe has earned that honor.

Garrett Nelson shot a round of 94, Gable Reece and Cody Kjellsen each shot a 95 and Reed Kale finished with a 105.

The Indians traveled to Menlo for sectionals, where they finished in third place with a score of 340, just one stroke behind Nodaway Valley in second place for the final qualifying spot.

Lampe, with his round of 76, and Audlehelm, with his score of 77, both advanced individually.

Nelson recorded a round of 93, Reece shot a 94, Kjellsen finished with a 98 and Kale recorded a 106.

Lampe and Audlehelm advanced to district play at Lake Panorama National, where Audlehelm scored a round of 83 and Lampe finished his career with a score of 99.
