Martha Rowland Osceola

Martha Rowland, 95, of Osceola died May 8, 2013, at Southern Hills Specialty Care.

Services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. Phil Coe officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in Osceola.

Martha Alice Banker Rowland, daughter of Blanche Pauline (Delong) and William Lloyd Banker, was born March 25, 1918, in Clarke County near Murray.

Martha received her education at Clarke County country schools and graduated from Osceola High School.

On Nov. 12, 1936, Martha married William Bechtel “Bech” Rowland in Missouri.

Martha was a member of Business and Professional Women in Osceola and a past member of Osceola Country Club. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Osceola and was also a sales representative of Avon products for many years.

Martha is survived by her son William “Bill” Rowland of Englewood, Ohio; daughter-in-law Carol Rowland of Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Richard “Dick” Keith Rowland; sister Louise Horton; and brothers, Harold and Roy Banker.
