Sungheu Kim Osceola

Sungheu Kim, 72, of Osceola died May 7, 2013, at Clarke County Hospital.

Memorial services were 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Davis-Pence American Legion Post No. 69 in Osceola.

Sungheu Kim, son of Jaeeun Kim and Junghee Lee Kim, was born Sept. 12, 1940, in Kyung Gi Do, Korea.

On Jan. 23, 1969, Sungheu married Kyesoon Chun Kim in Seoul, Korea.

Sungheu and Kyesoon lived in Seoul, Korea, for a number of years, before immigrating to the United States to live in Osceola.

Sungheu received his early education in Korea and later graduated from Southwestern Community College in Creston with a degree in electronics repair.

Sungheu owned and operated his own repair business for 10 years in Osceola. He later worked at Paul Mueller Company in Osceola for nearly 18 years, retiring in 2005.

Sungheu is survived by his wife Kyesoon Kim of Osceola; sons, Taechung (wife Shay) Kim of Olathe, Kan., Taekyun (wife Lisette) Kim of Woodinville, Wash., and Edward Kim (partner Erin Lindstone) of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Madison and Alex Kim of Martensdale, Andrew and Avery Kim of Olathe, Kan., and Joshua and Amelia Kim of Woodinville, Wash.; step-grandchildren, Deighton Urbanek of Olathe, Kan., and Bailey Urbanek of Midland, Mich.; sisters, Youngsoon Kim of New York, N.Y., and Kyungsoon Vandenmooter of Tampa, Fla.; brother Chulheu Kim of New York, N.Y., as well as many other relatives and friends.

Sungheu was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jooheu Kim.
