Robert Pritchard, 70, of Elkhorn, formerly of Denison, died April 28, 2013, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.
Graveside services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Van Wert Cemetery. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Van Wert Community Center. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.
Robert Lee Pritchard, son of Hazel (Irving) and Glenn Pritchard, was born March 2, 1943, in Osceola.
Bob grew up in the Van Wert area. He graduated from Van Wert High School.
Shortly after graduation, Bob went to work driving for Gilbert Trucking. Later, he worked at Hills McCanna in Creston. Soon after, he was drafted into the Army. He was sent to Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland for diesel mechanics training and served in Germany and two tours in Viet Nam as a mechanic.
After he was discharged from the Army, Bob worked as a truck driver and drove for various companies. He drove for Farmland in Denison for many years, until his early retirement because of health problems.
On Dec. 22, 1972, Bob married Dianna Hartley Hainline.
Bob is survived by his daughter Barbara (Neil) Schaben of Harlan; Brenda (Dan) Moore of Frisco, Texas; Brad (Lynne) Hainline of Mount Pleasant; brothers, Art (Evelyn) Pritchard of Osceola and Roger (Judi) Pritchard of Ames; and grandchildren, Dylan Schaben, Michael (Terra) Verbik, Anthony (Kiah) Verbik, Zachary and Ethan Moore and Amber, Shelby and Peyton Hainline.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister in infancy.
