Marjorie Snyder Truro

Marjorie Snyder, 88, of Truro died April 26, 2013, at Southern Hills Specialty Care Center in Osceola.

Memorial services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Truro United Methodist Church. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to her family to be decided at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

Marjorie Marie (Fox) Snyder, daughter of Anna Marie (Sillman) and Lyal Walter Fox, was born at the farm home of her parents near Britt.

Marjorie attended country school in Arthel Township for eight years and then high school in Britt.

After graduation in 1942, she taught country school in Britt township for three years.

Marjorie attended the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in Des Moines, graduating in 1948. She worked in surgery until her marriage to Bob Snyder in 1949.

They lived in Des Moines until 1955, when they moved to a farm south of Truro in Clarke County, where they raised their family.

Marjorie was active in the Truro Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school for many years.

Marjorie worked at Clarke County Hospital for 40 years, retiring in 1999. The last few years she was the operating room supervisor.

Marjorie was a member of New Hope Circle and Methodist Women.

Marjorie is survived by her husband Bob Snyder of Truro; sons, Gail Snyder of Blair, Neb., Greg (Terri) Snyder of Loveland, Colo., and Gene (Patty) Snyder of Truro; daughter-in-law Kathy Snyder of Story City; grandchildren, Ryan (Lori) Snyder of Truro, Nykki (Owen) Wendelin of Aberdeen, N.C., Tim Snyder of Eugene, Ore., Curt Snyder of Dover, Del., Jeff (Cassie) Snyder of Adel, Tia and Tara Snyder of Truro and Chad Snyder of Fort Collins, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Caden and Karsen Wendelin, Chance (Josie) and Zach Snyder, all of Borger, Texas, and Kaylan, Hailey, Clayton and Bracken Snyder; great-great-grandchild Jake Snyder; sister Carol Schulz of Corwith and Doris (Earl) Schulz of Britt; as well as other family and many friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; brother Earl in 1938; son Gary Allen in 1987; grandson Mike in 1996; sister Imogene Schubert and her husband Richard in 2006; brother John Fox in 2010 and brother-in-law Chris Schulz.
