Kenneth ‘George’ Roberts Carlisle

Kenneth “George” Roberts, 62, of Carlisle died April 17, 2013, at VA Central Iowa Health Care System.

Military graveside services were 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April, 20 at Bethel Chapel Cemetery, conducted by Herndon-Oehlert American Legion Post No. 157 of Woodburn. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola, was in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth “George” Laverne Roberts, son of Dorothy Alice (Eubank) and Lloyd Ivan Roberts, was born Feb. 6, 1951, in Osceola.

George received his education at Chariton High School and graduated in 1969.

George served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

George worked for Rosenberger Trucking, but in later years operated his own truck.

George is survived by his sister Verla (Gary) Adams of Omaha, Neb.; nephews, Gregory Adams, Kyle (Jamie) Adams and Eric Adams; other relatives and many friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents; brother Merrill Roberts and a brother in infancy.
