Clarke golf off to good start

The Clarke girls golf team picked up three wins last week, while the boys team won one match and finished tied for second at The Reserve.

The Lady Indians started things off with a 240-263 win in its first event of the year against Chariton on April 1.

Kimberly Eddy and Courtney Clark were co-medalists as both shot rounds of 59. Jordyn Wright took runner-up honors, also shooting a round of 59.

Alex Stine finished with a round of 65, while Darian Short and Samantha Stickels shot rounds of 70 and 75, respectively.

The Lady Indians then won a close 207-217 match against Carlisle on April 2 at Countryside in Norwalk.

Wright earned medalist honors with a round of 49 and Eddy picked up runner-up honors with a 50.

Clark shot a round of 52 and Stine finishes with a score of 56. Short recorded a round of 59 and Stickels shot a 67.

The boys opened up with a 185-212 win over Carlisle at Copper Creek in Pleasant Hill on April 2.

Seth Audelhelm won medalist honors with a round of 39.

Garrett Nelson shot a 48, while Mitch Lampe and Gable Reece each recorded 49s. Reed Kale finished with a 53 and Cody Kjellsen shot a 60.

The Lady Indians made it a perfect three for three on April 4 in Corydon, with a team score of 221, defeating Wayne (236) and Moravia (261).

Eddy won medalist honors with a round of 50 and Wright finished runner-up with a 52.

Short shot a round of 56 while Stine and Stickels each shot a round of 63. Nicole Clark finished with a round of 66.

Meanwhile, the boys team finished in a tie for second place at The Preserve at Honey Creek.

Albia won the event with a team score of 184 as Clarke and Chariton each finished with a score of 196. Moravia was fourth at 204.

Audelhelm led the Indians with a round of 46, followed closely by Lampe’s 47 and Nelson’s 49.

Kale recorded a round of 54 while Reece and Caleb Grimm each shot rounds of 55. Kjellsen finished with a 59.

Albia’s Cy Heffron was medalist with a score of 44.
