Edward Lundquist Osceola

Edward Lundquist, 89, of Osceola died March 6, 2013, at Clarke County Hospital.

Edward Martin Lundquist, son of Bernice Vesper (Jackson) and Nels Martin Lundquist, was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Taylor County south of Corning.

On Sept. 8, 1942, Ed married Lois Darlene Peters in Rockport, Mo.

Ed served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII, was a 50-year Mason and member of Osceola United Methodist Church.

In 1960, Ed and Darlene moved to Osceola when they purchased Highway Lumber Company. Ed operated it until 1988, when he retired and passed the business to his family.

Ed is survived by his wife Darlene; sons, Jim (Anne) Lundquist of Cedar Falls and Alan (Deb) Lundquist of Osceola; daughter Nancy (Dale) Carmichael of Corning; AFS son Frans (Ada) de Mol of Rotterdam, Holland; grandchildren, Brad (Cindy) Cerbin of West Des Moines, Courtney (Ryan) Bright of Des Moines, Alexis (Rob) Wood of Urbandale, Jeanne (Scott) Hansen of Charles City, Eddie Lundquist of Orlando, Fla., Ryan (Peggy) Lundquist of Osceola, Amy Lundquist of Osceola, Ashley (Mike) Powell of North Liberty, Christy (Robert) Dillon of Houston, Texas, and Carey (Erik) Smith of Coto de Caza, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Slone, Skylar, Jacob, Holly, Emerson, Gavin, Drake, Parker, Annemarie, Bennett, Graham, Hazel Grace, Dylan, Calhoun and Zeke; other relatives and many friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; brother Russell Lundquist; and sister Alieen Anderson.
