Donna Goering, 60, of Mesa, Ariz., died Feb. 8, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley-Friendship Village, in Tempe, Ariz.
Donna was cremated. A service for family and friends will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Lacona Community Center, 103 E. Main St., Lacona. Mountain View Funeral Home and Crematory, Mesa, Ariz., was in charge of arrangements.
Donna Goering, daughter of Beulah (Holland) and William D. “Bill” Brown, was born Feb. 11, 1952, in Boone.
Donna lived in Arizona the past 12 years.
Donna worked as a real estate agent, team leader and supervisor at manufacturing plants and in various capacities in the medical field, including nursing home aide, unit clerk, autopsy assistant and medical records clerk.
Donna attended United Community Schools in Boone and held a real estate license. She was also a licensed paramedic and farmers’ market coordinator.
Donna was a member of Mission Community Church, Central Arizona DX Association and Arizona Outlaws Contest Club. Donna volunteered as a church and 4-H club leader, teacher at Ladies Retreat Arizona Ham Radio Convention, at the 2005 10-10 International Ham Radio Convention in Mesa, Ariz., and Hope Women’s Center in Apache Junction, Ariz.
Donna is survived by her husband Jon Goering of Mesa, Ariz.; children, David (wife Lisa) Poling of Des Moines, Stephen (wife Jennifer) Poling of Chariton and Mindy
(husband Brandon) Jansen of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister Janet Brown (husband Bill Whipple) of Easton, Pa.; brother Charles (wife Jolene) Brown of Boone; many cousins, nieces and nephews; father-in-law Franklin (Dee) Goering and mother-in-law Alice Goering of Leon.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents.
