Clarke bowling defeats Nodaway Valley

GREENFIELD — Both Clarke bowling teams picked up victories here on Jan. 22 over Nodaway Valley, with the boys team earning a dramatic come-from-behind victory.

After trailing by 97 pins going into the Baker Rotation, the boys team chipped away at the lead in every game of the Baker Rotation, coming away with a 10-pin victory, 2291-2281.

Damon Helgevold led the Indians with a two-game of 325, while Jacob Redman also eclipsed the 300-mark with a 301. Matt Beminio rolled a 285 as Cody Kjellsen and Nathan Compton scored a 279 and 274, respectively. Adam Smith finished with a 238.

The Lady Indians, meanwhile, jumped out to an 111-pin lead after the first round, and continued pulling away in the Baker Rotation, finishing with a 235-pin victory, 1875-1640.

Courtney Clark rolled a 266 to lead the way, while Shyanne DeVore finished with a 249 and Elly Eddy and Sierra Penick each tallied 244. Bailey Browne finished with a 227 and Alexxa Blair contributed a 184.

Clarke returns to action on Monday at home against Newton.
