Interstate 35 49, Corning 38

TRURO — Five 3-pointers in the first quarter helped Interstate 35 amass a 17-8 lead here on Jan. 25 against Corning, leading the Roadrunners to a 49-38 win over a tall Corning team.

"We came out with an offensive mindset tonight," head coach Jamie Smith said. "I thought the players adjusted to what Corning was doing to us on the defensive end. Defensively, we got every loose ball and minimized them getting to the boards. We are playing well at the right time and that is a testament to how hard the girls have worked."

THe Roadrunners featured balanced scoring in the win, led by Jordan Williamson's 13 points. Nicole Bowden scored 12 points and Colene Jones added 11. Nicole Travis chipped in nine points and Charlie Rupp scored four points.

Williamson added five assists and three rebounds, while Bowden grabbed eight boards with six steals. Travis, Rupp and Brooke Brommel all grabbed four rebounds.
