Third quarter deflates I-35 girls against NV
TRURO — For two quarters, the Interstate 35 girls basketball team looked poised to knock off Nodaway Valley here on Friday, even though Nodaway Valley post player Syndey Reeves scored 12 points in the first half.
But, Interstate 35 managed just one point in the third quarter, as Nodaway Valley went on an 11-1 run to take a 31-18 lead into the fourth quarter.
“In the second half, we came out and did a good job on (Reeves),” head coach Jamie Smith said. “They had some other girls make shots and we didn’t. Just not a very good shooting night for us, and they hit some free throws in the second half.”
