ADEL — Three Clarke wrestlers competed at the Tiger Invitational here on Saturday, placing 15th out of the 15-team field with 24 points.

Webster City edged out Dallas Center-Grimes and ADM for first place with 209.5 points, compared to 208.5 for DC-G and 206.5 for ADM.

Jacob Bair placed third at 170 pounds for Clarke. Bair pinned Newton’s Sean Cook in the first round and Audubon’s Jordan Hansen in the quarterfinals before getting pinned by Webster City’s Brandon Patton in the semifinals.

Bair pinned Ames’s Joe Beccrra in the consolation bracket and then pinned PCM’s Ron Marshall in the third-place match in 1:32.

Chasen Selson competed at 126 pounds for the Indians. Selsor got pinned by Geoff Sellers of Red Oak in the first round, and after receiving a bye in the consolation bracket, was pinned by Ames’s Brayden Agnitsch.

Brett Moffett wrestled at 132 pounds for Clarke. Moffett was pinned in the first round by Atlantic’s Reid Nichols and received a bye in the consolation round. Moffett then lost a 6-3 decision to Red Oak’s Austin Streicher.

Clarke returns to action Friday and Saturday at the John J. Harris Classic in Corning.
