Garnet “Nile” Miller Murray

Garnet “Nile” Miller, 87, of Murray died Jan. 8, 2013, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.

Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. The Rev. Dwayne Henrichs officiated. Interment was in Murray Cemetery. Memorias may be directed to the family to be determined at a later date.

Garnet “Nile” Miller, son of Elizabeth Eleanor (Taggart) and Henry Dennis Miller, was born April 20, 1925, in Ellston.

Nile received his education in Orient and Zion schools.

Nile served during WWII, attaining the rank of PFC.

On Jan. 10, 1952, Nile married Doris J Howe in Creston.

Nile worked at various sale barns and was a farmer.

Nile was a member of Davis-Pence Post No. 69 American Legion in Osceola.

Nile is survived by his wife Doris; daughters, Beverly (Doyle) Ellis, Sheila Miller, Nila (Robb) Clark, Lila (Joel) Johnson and Beth (James) Guinn; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Nile was preceded in death by his parents; brother Merritt Miller; sisters, Oris Culbertson, Viola Hartman and Mildred Hartman and granddaughter Mandy Ellis.
