Betty Thomas Osceola

Betty Thomas, 86, of Osceola died Jan. 1, 2013.

Services were 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St. The Rev. William E. Ballard, chaplain, HCI Care Services, officiated. Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Foundation, Alzheimer’s Disease Research Fund.

Betty Catherine Thomas, daughter of Jeanne Isabelle (Hollingsworth) and James Herbert Williams, was born Jan. 26, 1926, in Liberty, Ky.

Betty received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska.

On Feb. 1, 1951, Betty married David Mickey Thomas in Iowa City.

Betty worked as a registered nurse at Clarke County Hospital for 18 years.

Betty was a member of Osceola United Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by her husband David Mickey Thomas of Osceola; daughters, Becky (Dwight) Martin and Susan (Gregory) Moulton, all of Vienna, Va., and Judy Thomas of Waltham, Mass.; grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley Moulton and Caleb Martin, all of Vienna, Va.; brother James (Shirley) Williams of Dodge City, Kan.; sister Margaret (Harvey) Miller of Montrose, Colo., as well as other relatives and many friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
