Arlean Crum West Des Moines

Arlean (Armstrong) Crum, 91, of West Des Moines died Jan. 1, 2013, at Fountain West Health Care Center.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. Burial was in Avon Cemetery. Arlean Crum, daughter of Marie (Wagoner) and Lewis Armstrong, was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Des Moines.

Arlean was a telephone operator and worked in various businesses. She also helped her husband farm and spent many years volunteering at Clarke County Hospital.

Arlean is survived by her daughter Nancy (Larry) Jones; grandson Randy (Kim) Jones; great-grandson Blake; sister Maxine Douglas; brother Jack (Mary Lou) Armstrong; sister-in-law Carolyn Armstrong; brother-in-law Glenn (Red) Crum; and many nieces and nephews.

Arlean was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carroll Crum; and brothers, Lewis and Bob Armstrong.
