Linda Porter, 64, of Osceola died Dec. 7, 2012, at Clarke County Hospital.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Osceola United Methodist Church. The Rev. Julie M. Poore officiated. Interment was in Cambrian Cemetery in Columbus Junction. Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Osceola United Methodist Choir Department or Clarke Area Arts Council.
Linda Gaye Porter, daughter of Clifford Frederick Finke and Muriel A. Finke Mitchell, was born Sept. 18, 1948, in Burlington.
Linda grew up in Mediapolis and graduated from Columbus Community High School.
Linda worked in the Des Moines County Treasurer’s office for many years.
In 1984, Linda married Robert Porter in Burlington, and they have lived in Osceola for the past 16 years.
Linda was currently employed by DCS Sanitation Management in Osceola.
Linda was a member of Osceola Country Club, Clarke Area Arts Council and Osceola United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.
Linda is survived by her husband Robert Porter of Osceola; son Chad Evans of Iowa City; daughters, Annissa Evans of San Diego, Calif., and Julie Porter of Livingston, Mont.; sister Christina McLaury of Madison, Ala.; brother John Blecha of Saint Louis, Mo.; nephew Rex McLaury of Madison, Ala.; other relatives and many friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
